SPEAKER GUIDELINES

  • The presenting author must be registered and have paid the registration fees to attend PBM2024 Annual Meeting by the late-breaking abstract submission deadline (5 April 2024) to be included in the Scientific Program.
  • Authors may be the presenting author on a maximum of two abstracts, however authors may be a co-author on any number of abstracts.
  • The submitting author must ensure that all co-authors approve the abstract's content prior to submission
  • Each author must have made a significant contribution to the research and is responsible for the content of the abstract.
  • The Presenting Author may be changed until 30th June 2025. Please email anne-marie@pbm2024.com to submit a change.
  • This is an in-person event only, virtual options are not available.
  • Abstracts should be of high quality and presented impartially, without favouring any specific companies.
  • It is mandatory for all presenting authors and co-authors to fully disclose any conflicts of interest at the beginning of their presentation. This disclosure should be prominently displayed on the opening slides using the templates provided. These include financial relationships with manufacturers or any commercial product or services in the 36 months prior to the event. These include speaker fees, research grants, fees for other educational activities such as training of health professionals and consultation fees. Where a speaker owns shares in a company producing products or services for healthcare, this should also be declared.
  • Presenting Authors are also required to fully disclose any conflicts of interest when completing the conflict of interest form during the abstract submission.
  • Slide presentations in PowerPoint or Apple Keynote may be uploaded online or delivered in-person to the Speaker Ready Room on a USB thumb drive at the meeting venue A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) HOURS before your assigned session time (this may mean the day prior for early morning sessions) at the Event Planner’s Office (close to the registration desk) on Westminster ballroom level.
  • All scientific research referred to, reported on, or used in the abstract must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection and analysis.
  • Abstract selection for presentation is limited to those that report on already collected data. Abstracts must include specific, factual information and accurately represent completed work. Statements indicating that 'results will be discussed' are not acceptable.
  • For Trials in Progress: Submissions are permitted if you are currently conducting a clinical trial and expect to have relevant data and statistics prepared in time for the conference.
  • Not all abstracts will be accepted due to limited space in the programme.
  • Audio Video (AV) preparations: the below will be provided during conference presentations:
    • Slide format should be 16:9 ratio
    • Use PBM2024 PowerPoint template provided for Title and Disclosure (please download the template here).
    • Video and recorded audio content should be embedded in the slides and tested at the speaker ready desk.
    • There will be a wireless microphone, laser pointer, and remote slide clicker at the podium.
  • Speakers’ disclosures
    Speakers are asked to disclose conflicts of interest at the beginning of their presentation, with sufficient time for the information to be read by the audience. They should disclose financial relationships with manufacturers of any commercial product and/or providers of commercial services used on or produced for patients relating to the 36 months prior to the event. These include speaker fees, research grants, fees for other educational activities such as; training of health professionals and consultation fees. Where a speaker owns shares or stocks directly in a company producing products or services for healthcare this should also be declared. Finally, other conflicts of interest including expert functions in health care or healthcare guidance processes should be declared (e.g., if the professional is a member of a health board). The Federation considers it good practice to also make speakers’ disclosures available in digital format(s) relating to the educational event.
